The trade shows had closed their doors but our excitement did not die out. Actually, sorting through a gazillion pictures snapped during these insane, action filled days, we are getting seriously psyched about upcoming fall/winter season. Since it’s simply not possible to feature every amazing brand and striking item that stopped us in our tracks, we will do our best to highlight the most remarkable Playtime NY and ENK Children’s Club “OMG! moments”.
Discovering new brands, including those spanky new or exhibiting for the 1st time, is one of the most rewarding trade show experiences. Let’s start with fabulous Pouti Paris. As you might expect from the whimsical name and the magical word Paris, this new brand is going for a kill. Feather skirt and wool blazer with golden deer head embroidery pretty much say it all.
Unruly Blue, Luxurious British brand in its 4th season had finally crossed the pond with exquisite collection of legendary bespoke tailoring in brilliant fall colors, bold plaids and Liberty prints. Dandy Alert: double breasted vests!
We’ve been watching Omami Mini developing fine balance of cuteness and sophistication into the brand’s signature style and delivering very strong collection for FW14. Cat-dots ponchos lined with insanely soft Sherpa will definitely become brand’s bestseller.
British Lucas Frank catering to boys had completely reinvented itself, leaping from snoozy Ralph Lauren clones to a stunning spectacle of Royal Navy uniforms’ inspired pieces, vintage bronze buttons, fur shawl collars and antique map lining.
Whimsical Little Miss Galia presented striking collection of mixed fabrics, edgy draping, sequins, metallic and laser cut leather. Glam rock n’ roll!
Elegant Rachel Riley is adored for her charming refinery. Line’s rich gold brocade dresses and quirky prints earned enthusiastic accolades of fashionistas and industry pros alike.
Lucky Jade amped up sophistication factor in FW14 collection, presenting an ultimate hit Skyline romper. Can you think about better baby shower gift?
Belgian brand Maan is a highly concentrated essence of everything we love about Belgian fashion. Rich pine green appeared in various textures, from sparkly leather to luxurious shaggy fur, accentuated by silver metallic leather.
Spanish Be Lucky dresses the coolest kids on the block. Laid back hip designs are perfect for the little city dwellers.
Another French jewel Chupeta takes care of the little feet without skipping on the legendary French chic. Patent leather, animal prints and metallics are grounded by classic, timeless shapes.
Oeuf NYC would have taken home Oscar in trade show booth design category, had such thing existed. We couldn’t tear ourselves away from this Brooklyn inspired wonderland, filled with exquisite knit treasures.
Sons & Daughters’ epic shades quench the sartorial thirst for one of a kind accessories. Hip, colorful and playful they will have your little goofball at hello. Get excited about brand’s Class 2014 collection with this sneak peek!
Speaking of accessories… Lovely and bright, Noe & Zoe’s accessories stood out. Atsuyo et Akiko satisfied our recently developed passion for pompoms; Oeuf’s tails and knit cherry necklace were right in tune with companies “wear & play” philosophy and fairytale Je suis en CP fur trimmed hats emerged straight from the snow maiden’s closet.
Being obsessed with stars we’ve noticed a definite shift to sparkly diminutive stars, reminiscent of the stars’ studded night sky. Of course, our beloved MAA Shoes embraced the trend taking it even farther with the tiny holographic stars. Talc’s cozy ensembles looked so wintery gorgeous we wanted them in our size!
Newcomer Alivia Simone’s fantastic debut at Petite Parade had all the signs of “a star is born” success story. Hard to please, kids fashion industry’s pros were taken with the brand’s gold brocade peplum dresses, minimalistic black and white pieces and fine quilting. This is definitely a brand to watch. We had to pair this adorable dress with the patent leather beauties from magnificent Manuela De Juan.
Poppy’s storybook dresses are stunning in their ethereal beauty. We’ve grounded them with MAA’s fringed boots.
Noch Mini cooked up another fantastic fall/winter collection, indulging themselves in their favorite triangles. We found the audacity of pairing triangle dress with massive dots of Petit by Sofie Schnoor patent leather ballet flats quite charming.
An abundance of shirts and blouses in striking prints and crazy variety of styles was extremely inspiring. Moody florals of Portugal based Wolf & Rita, dreamy, Victorian blouse with surprising zebra print from How to Kiss a Frog and kaleidoscopic balloons of endlessly inventive Suoak.
